Comedy MickeyOne of the great things about doing this blog has been discovering recordings I had completely forgotten.  When I recently stumbled across this 8track demo of Comedy Man I remembered feeling really good about the song when John and I wrote it and I still do.  I think it spent some time as the opening song of our live set particularly as live it had power and an edge which proved very difficult to capture in my basement on 8track with2 mics… In fairness we did try to record it on 24 track at least once, maybe twice, but to my mind at the time, those recordings fell short of the magical mark and ended up cast to one side.  Listening now I quite like the grungy somewhat lazy feel of this version but I also like the solo guitar harmonica version I do live these days which is more urgent and more than a little unhinged!
